BESC Certificate Requirement:
- According to Benin Customs regulations, all cargo destined for Benin must be accompanied by a valid BESC certificate.

- The shipper or their representative must declare the cargo in the ECTN system before shipment from the origin country. However, this responsibility does not apply to floating cargo bound for Benin.

- Specific Cargo Type Requirement:
- Confirmation has been received from Beninese authorities that vehicles inside containers should be categorized as “container” cargo. The container number should be specified on the documents.
- Additionally, the chassis number of the vehicles must be included in the goods description field for this type of case.
- Vehicles not loaded in containers should be designated as “RoRo” cargo.

- Failure to present the BESC document upon arrival may result in the cargo being held at customs, leading to severe consequences such as fines and port storage
