ECTN, or Bordereau Electronique de Suivi des Cargaisons, is an electronic tracking system mandated by the authorities of South Sudan. What is the Procedure?
Under this law, all cargoes imported from overseas and shipped for commercial, commercial, in certain cases diplomatic and personal reasons must be accompanied by an ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note).
The shipper or the freight forwarder is responsible for acquiring the ECTN waiver certificate from the authorized representative.
Regulations of South Sudan ECTN Certificate
- South Sudan Customs requires ECTN certificates for all cargo coming into the country.
- The ECTN certification must be confirmed no later than five days prior to the vessel’s arrival.
- If the shipment arrives without an ECTN certificate or with incorrect ECTN information, it will be charged twice the cost of the certificate plus the regulatory charge set by the National Port Officials of South Sudan.
